It is Yom HaShoah – Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day – in Israel today.
When a whole nation is annihilated, it is a real Catastrophe. Six million innocent victims is a catastrophe not only for Jews, but also for all humanity. When the mind is blinded by the thirst for mythical revenge, any nation may be assigned to this role of a victim by madmen and xenophobes, JCU President Boris Lozhkin wrote on Facebook.
Day of the Holocaust is both a day of remembrance and a day of reminder. A memorial day for the perished and a reminder of what should not have happened and what must not be repeated in the future.
“Everything starts with love” is the name of the work of the People's Artist of Ukraine, composer, member of the Supervisory Board of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine Oleksandr Zlotnyk, performed by the Violinists’ Ensemble of the Reinhold Gliere Kyiv Music Academy.
On this day, let us remember the six million victims who died because hatred had taken the place of love for one's neighbor; let us remember the Holocaust.
