"86 years ago, this is how the Holocaust began. It's time for the world to wake up," - JCU President Boris Lozhkin on the Amsterdam pogrom

“We failed the Jewish community of the Netherlands during World War II. This night we have failed you again,” such was the reaction of the King of the Netherlands to the pogrom last night by Hamas supporters in Amsterdam after the soccer match between Ajax and Maccabi.

Those were not the “traditional” clashes of soccer fans. Jews were run over by cars, beaten, stabbed with knives and drowned in the river just for being Jews. About ten people are still out of contact.

All this was happening not in 1938, but in 2024 in the center of Europe, the day before the anniversary of the “Crystal night” (“Kristallnacht”).
