An international educational project PJ Library has come to Ukraine

On April 9, the Executive Director of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine Inna Ioffe met with the representatives of the American Jewish Charitable Foundation – Harold GrinspoonFoundation.

One of the main projects of the Foundation is the PJ Library, a program that allows Jewish children to receive books with Jewish stories and tales on various topics on a monthly basis for free. The program has been operating since 2005 in a dozen countries around the world.

Ukraine also joined them in March 2019. Families with children aged 2 to 8 years from Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa regions have an opportunity to subscribe to receive books. More than 700 Ukrainian families have already taken this opportunity. Every month they receive books in Hebrew, Ukrainian and Russian. The project will expand also to the other regions starting from September.

PJLibrary has come to Ukraine thanks to the support of the international partner of the Genesis Philanthropy Group program.

The Jewish Confederation of Ukraine will happily contribute to the further development of the program.
