The Jewish Confederation of Ukraine is outraged and shocked by the horrific pogrom that took place last night in Amsterdam.
There can be no explanation for this horrific anti-Semitic violence, when Maccabi Tel Aviv football fans clashed with an anti-Israeli crowd that had obviously been carefully prepared for such barbaric acts. This is clearly visible in the footage of the video on the Internet.
The fact that the pogrom was staged just before the anniversary of the Kristallnacht pogrom in 1938 is particularly disturbing.
Thousands of Jews were forced to run and hide, fearing for their lives.
We strongly condemn any such attacks on Jews, which are also a clear attack on human rights to live in peace and goodness.
We call on whole civilized world for an immediate harsh response to such an act of inhumanity.
There are no excuses, no tolerance, no excuses for anti-Semitism. And that’s it! “Never again."
