AJC Global Forum (American Jewish Committee Global Forum) is perhaps the most authoritative and representative forum in the Jewish world.
Last year "Glory to Ukraine!” sounded loudly at the AJC Global Forum at the central synagogue in New York City. Those were unforgettable emotions. Today, "Glory to Ukraine!" sounded just as loud in Tel Aviv. Borys Lozhkin, President of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, wrote about this on Facebook.
AJC, which unites most American Jewish organizations and cooperates with many communities in other countries of the world, including the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, is a long-standing sincere and devoted friend of Ukrainians and Ukrainian Jews.
Lozhkin recalled that it was AJC that deployed the first reception centers in Western Europe for internally displaced persons at the end of February 2022. A special StandWithUkraine fund was also quickly established, providing for the evacuation of thousands of Ukrainians.
"David Harris, who headed the AJC then, called the war unleashed by Russia "a drama of biblical proportions.” On March 7, 2022, the AJC called on Joe Biden to help Ukraine in every possible way. It was the 11th day of the "big war," and not everyone believed then that Ukraine would survive. The AJC did believe. They also did much to consolidate bipartisan U.S. support for Ukraine.
