Whether Lina Kostenko would be able to record a separate address to the participants of the ceremony of awarding her with the Metropolitan Sheptytsky medal became clear just before the start of the event in the Capitol.

The reason was a cold she had suffered the day before.

Lina Kostenko prepared in advance a separate speech “For Your and Our Future”, which was read by her granddaughter Yaroslava Francesca Barbieri.

Fortunately, Lina’s health allowed her to give a personal greeting as well.
