The Jewish world community has been providing great and invaluable assistance to Ukraine since the first days of the russian aggression.
However, a lot more can and should be done. The President of Ukraine said this in his address to the participants of the American Jewish Committee. I have also focused on this in my report, wrote Boris Lozhkin, President of Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, on Facebook.
It is not the 1940s today, but russia is acting in Ukraine similar to the Nazis 80 years ago: filtration camps that are no different from concentration camps, total destruction of peaceful cities along with their inhabitants and complete destruction of the multinational culture of Ukrainians.
It is just the same what to destroy for the russians: Orthodox churches or memorials to the victims of the Holocaust in Babyn and Drobytsky Yar, or places where Greeks have lived for centuries. Neither do they care who they kill. Russia wants to destroy the cultural diversity that exists in Ukraine today, and which can disappear without the help of friends.
“I am aware of your substantive help, but I ask you to redouble your efforts to stop russian hatred. Hatred for humanity. Hatred for Ukrainians, its culture, history, and for the fact that, despite all of the horrors of the past, Ukraine has remained a kind and open country for different cultures,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
