Boris Lozhkin announced holding the Second KJF


During the Assembly of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, held on August 5 via video conference, the President of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, First Vice-President of the EAJC Boris Lozhkin informed the conference participants about the forthcoming Second Kyiv Jewish Forum, which will be held online in September. This has been reported by the EAJC.

The first Forum took place last year in Kyiv. It was a significant event for the Jewish community around the world which brought together more than 500 participants to discuss current issues in the Jewish life today, anti-Semitism, and memory of the Holocaust.

Lozhkin also presented a new JCU project to translate into Ukrainian and promote selected books on the history of Israel and the Jewish people. The first issue of the series will feature 4 volumes: “Israel: A Brief History of the Rebirth of the Nation”, “My Life” (Golda Meir), “Mossad: The Greatest Missions of the Israeli Secret Service” and “A State at Any Cost: The Life of David Ben-Gurion”.

“The diversity of our projects reflects the diversity and uniqueness of the Jewish life in the Euro-Asian region. In these trying times, we continue educational and social programs, as well as projects aimed at supporting the state of Israel, combating anti-Semitism, preserving the historical heritage of the Jewish people and perpetuating the memory of the Holocaust,” said the EAJC President Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili.

According to the EAJC website, Mikhail Mirilashvili also presented a report on the EAJC’s activities over the past year, the main activities of the Congress and a draft Resolution in support of the statement of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) condemning “any attempts to rehabilitate the persons involved in the crimes of the Holocaust and the genocide of the Gypsies.” The resolution has been adopted unanimously by the Assembly participants.
